Default np231 rebuild help

Hey guys. Im rebuilding my np231 transfer case with a sye kit and I'm currently stuck on the planetary bearing. I removed the old bearing without paying attention to the bearing depth and think i installed the new one two deep. After dry assembling everything the main shaft is sitting a bit too low in the case so i can't get it into neutral without lifting the shaft up.

Does anyone know the bearing depth or have any pictures?
Does this little bearing really control the depth of the main shaft in the case or do i have another issue?

Thanks, any help is appreciated

If you have the proper bearings, the depth is controlled by an outside snap ring

The bearing I’m talking about is the little one in the planetary gear. There is no bottoming point. Found a video that confirms it does control shaft depth and says to pay close attention to its depth before pressing out. Guess I’m going to go off pictures then dry assemble to see if I have all ranges. What a nightmare!
