Default NP-231 rebuild

rebuilding a 231 with better parts, its getting a wide chain and gear kit, sye, and FULL rebuild. which leads me to my question,

there is a rear bearing that supports the back of the front output shaft, how does it come out of the case? ive tried heat, beating on it, and getting some sort of puller in there, but all im doing is screwing up the case around it...i know it has to come out somehow, but whats the trick?

searching doesnt yield much on this particular bearing, any help is appreciated.

If you are installing an SYE then you don't need to remove that bearing as the whole tail cone should be getting replaced...

not for the tail cone, I'm talking about the bearing for the front output, in the rear half of the case.
