Default not shifting into 4x after 1 inch Transfer case drop

did a 1 inch drop to get rid o the vibrations and now it dont wanna engage into 4x4.. when i shift it just pops/grinds and makes all kinds of unwanted noises..

i dont know if it matters but i didnt install the front driveshaft due to double cardan joint needed to be rebuild... my 89 has a 242 TC

Your linkage is now out of adjustment.

T case was dropped an inch, so an inch of movement in the shifter assembly has been taken away.

Its pretty simple to do, unless your linkage is as rusty as most.

If you have a little cash you may want to look into Froelich's linkage upgrade.

Gee Oh Dee pretty much covered it. The stock linkage can be adjusted (lengthened) to work with the t case drop. It most likely wont shift very smooth though because the bell crank (pivot point from the body to the case) is now most likely binding a little.

We developed a shift linkage setup to cure the problems known with the stock linkage.

And if its the 89 in his info I'd be UBER surprised if it wasn't rusted beyond workability.

Not to mention the stock linkage is WAY over complicated haha.
