Default nos ??

Does anybody run nos on their trail rig? I'm looking for something to help from say ur on a steep clay hill and ur winding it tight in low and second shift to 3rd and it bogs. The only thing I can come up with is nos its strictly a trail rig 89 xj stock 4.0 auto trans any help would be appreciated

Yes I'm running 4.56 gears I mean it doesn't just fall on its face but it bogs the motor that u have 2 shift back into 1st 2nd gear

have you done the neon injector upgrade yet it gives a little more pep

No been trying 2 find upgrades wo going into the block yet I have plans for a tera lo 4 to 1 kit or rubicon case just haven't come up with the$$$ yet. Do u have 2 have the computer reprogramed and is there somewhere I can read up on the neon injector upgrade ???

no its plug and ply 703s search it cost me 30 dollars at the u pull it yard,not a hole lot to do power wise to renix header maybe cold air intake free flo exhaust dont no how older motor would take a shot of nos might go kaboom

The jeep is a one owner it only has 80000 miles on it little old lady had it lol thought about having bigger valves put in the head and a roller cam have a header ordered kn air filter flomaster exhaust but if I'm going to go into the motor might as well go 2 a 4.7 stroker just looking for a little extra ponnies right now cheap

You do NOT want to shoot nitrous when the engine is bogging, that is possibly the #1 worst time for nitrous. Nor do you want to use it at low RPM and high speed (you may not be high speed in the vehicle but if you're turning good RPM in 3rd the tires are moving pretty quick

you would need to port the head for the valve size increase to actually be beneficial (and possible, since bigger valves won't just sit in the stock seats). Do you know what the benefits of a roller cam are and what else you need to do to use it? If you're going to upgrade the came just go with a standard cam with aggressive grind.

Thanks for the advice on the spray just looking for some extra power cheap till I can do the gear reduction in the transfer case

PS, nos is for ricers, nitrous is for racers. if you are calling it nos and not nitrous you don't know enough about it to use it. Lol

I think that's the best bet here anyway. Sure nitrous will get you a ton of torque, but building the engine right to get you that torque over and over again without having to refill a bottle is good. Plus it's one less thing to screw you and leave you stranded on the trail.

id bout all that i got friends wit muscle cars an there sprayed we r just to lazy to say nitrous idk see how sayin nitrous would mean u no sumthin bout cars instead of sayin nos or sprayed lol
