new to the xj thing ? about lifting it
I have a 1991 jeep Cherokee 4.0 ho i paid $250 for it an i have already installed two inch front coil spring spacers on it an have two inch blocks in the back now i was thinking about going with the rough country three inch lift w/shocks long aal, coil springs, an such how much lift should that clear an what size tires could i fit if i trimmed the fenders back some as i said i'm new to the xj thing i had a jeep Comanche lifted 10 inch's with one tons an 42 tsl under it so if you guys could help me out it would greatly be appreciated thanks.

first of all, get rid of those lift blocks out back. they cause axle wrap which is bad news bears. second, if your plannin on doin some crawlin, I stear away from RC. I know alot of people use em, but I've heard alot more bad than good. so replace the rear blocks with shackles. then I would recomend rustys offroad, or rubicon express for lifts. good quality, diescent prices. or if you want to save some dough, and you don't mind puttin in the work. you can build a bastard pack for the rear (s-10 or dakoda leaf packs under your stock main leaf gets you up to 4.5") aftermarket coils, longer shocks/breaklines, adjustable controll arms and trackbar keeps your geometry correct, longer swaybar links or discos. and if your going for a total of 3.5 or more lift, you'll want some sort of SYE. rubicon express sells a hack and tap sye for about $100 I think. and with that you'll need a cv driveshaft. there are o ton of threads about lifts, installs, and fabrication of parts to keep on the cheep. if I've missed anything please let me know, as I'm planning on running a 3" bastard pack setup for my '98. good luck man.

never mind all that. no offence bro, I was out of the loop for about 3 years and forgot alot of stuff. as for tires 3" will allow for 31's with little or no trimming, 4.5" will clear you up to 33's, but you'll want to trim your fenders if you plan on some full flex stuffin. any bigger than that you'll need to do quite a bit of trimming.
