I don't know how I missed that he was asking about 2 diffent widths of rims. Sorry OP but I'd still go with the 15x8.

From the sounds of it that .25 inches of BS difference won't hardly matter. Just because the wheel is wider isn't gonna put the tire any further out of the wheel well. Thanks everybody, I think I'm unDer standing the backspacing now, and will be doing the 15x8 wheel!

The 15x8's with 3 3/4" BS will serve you fine and one of the best points made for the 8" rim was during air down use running low psi.


Here is a photo of mine with Cragar Soft Eights 15x8" with 3 3/4" BS running a 33x12:50, it may give you a better look standing still as far as width.
