Who said anything about doetsch* shocks? does color really matter? I'm sure if you got the best shocks and painted them white, they will still be the best...

Actually color has a large effect normally the darker the better because they use darker paint on the shocks with more pressure and different gases. I majored in liquid dynamics and came across this a couple years ago.

So are my shocks stock or not? Pos or good? All I know is that they're blue and came with the Cherokee when I bought it, stock 98 sport. Completely blue.

typically, there is a couple of makers of white body shocks which all companies will just slap there sticker on and call their own. plus you can tell a twin tube shock apart from a monotube so painting it white wont disguise that.

Well if these "white-bodied" shocks are so bad then what is a good low-price shock to go with? Bilsteins are out of my price range, $145 for these white ones seems great to me. I'm also running coil spacers and an AAL which are AWESOME for my Jeep and its uses. Keep that in mind.

What these gentlemen are trying to tell you is...

Go with a NAME BRAND shock even if it is a mono tube "white body" shock... Most of them have some kind of warrantee and will stand behind their product even if it is only a "white body" shock.

Rubicon Express has some good mono tubes for fairly cheap.
