Exclamation New rim and tire questions

I was planning on buying some black steelies and some new tires soon, but i have no idea what kinda backspacing ill need or what size i can actually fit under my xj, it has a 2in lift on it, what width should i be looking for the rim and the tire? i heard that usually the tire width should be about 2in wider than the rim but wasnt sure

Umm, ok.. What size tires do YOU want. I could tell you to run 31x10.50's with 4 or less inches of back spacing on a 15x7 or 8" rim or 33x10.50 or 12.50 on a 15x8" rim... Ya gotta give us more info!

Maybe a bit, you could adjust the steering stops if it rubbed, here is what a 10.5 inch wide tire with a 8 inch wide 3.75 inch bs wheel looks lik on an xj.

if it rubs its only the control arms not sharp jagged edges, you could adjust your steering stops

I've never looked for tires that small. I ran 235/75/15 Goodyear wrangler radials when I first got my xj, they were alright, good on the road, they are like 100 per tire. And that's like a 29.5 inch tall tire.
