You are looking at a different tire if the good years are over 110 each, Wally World sells them for like 87 dollars. I payed 416 mounted balanced and out the door for mine. The stt is a good looking tire, I've never known anyone who ran them though, so I don't know anything about them. If you want a high mileage m/t tire is recommend km2s it's not uncommon to get 40k miles out of a set.

Again I don't know, look on tirerack.com, they have the best info, but there are better prices elsewhere.

I don't know, I've never ran the stts or the geolanders, the stts get great reviews, the geolanders get not great reviews, and the km2s get great reviews, I the stts are 200 cheaper, I'd get them.

If you are looking for a DD street/offroad tire For the money I would go with The Falken Wildpeak AT/Rocky Mountain ATS about 125/tire, 30" tires are getting harder to find, so unless you really want the extra .25" clearance a 235/75 may be your best bet. Most of them are cheaper at that size. Here is a small list of what I recommend. Big brand and discount/americas tire both price match.
Yoko Geolander AT, Firestone Destination AT, Dayton Timberline, general grabber AT2.

for what its worth i ran a set of cooper discoverer stt's on my old zj in a 265/75/16. i really liked them; i got them used, the guy said they had about 25k on them and i put 10k and they still had a good bit of life left in them when i sold the jeep. They did fine in the rain, mud, and the little bit of icy slush we have down here in ga.

Yeah im thinking im pretty sold on the stt's, im looking for a more aggressive type tire especially since summer is coming, the only thing is that idk if spending the extra 130 for the coopers over the yokohamas will pay off cuz idk how much longer the jeep will be lasting consider its got 170k miles on a engine with a pretty severe bottom end knock

Yes. Get the 31x10.5 on 3.75bs. Honestly if your gonna get 30 might as well get 31, with time it'll ware down to 30 if your really worried about rubbing, and I'm sure they won't, but if they do you could always do some minor trimming. And if you don't like the look of trimmed then you can trim and reinstall your stock flares ontop, just a lil higher and your good to go (:

I'm wanting to go from my stock 28's to 30's should I be concerned about changing the gears?

I've ran the KM2s good traction, good wear, p*** poor side wall strength. I'm running the Cooper STTs now, good traction, good wear, with much better side wall strength.
