Default New Radiator

Did a little searching and didn't find much. I am looking for a new radiator that is better than OEM. I found some on Rock Auto that say HD cooling but they give no description as to what HD cooling means, how many cores, nothing. What does HD cooling mean and also what are some good radiators

If your looking for aftermarket and you have a little fabrication skills I'd say look for a griffin aluminum radiator. I've had nothing but success with em.

Default I just bought a 3 core rad

I just bought a 3 core radiator from Reliable radiator on ebay. its all aluminum and ony cost about 220 bucks. I had one that was plastic with an aluminum core and it sucked! as for HD i would guess that it means Heavy Duty. I say make sure you have a good, all aluminum rad. that has 2 or 3 cores.

hope this helps

Try http://www.radiatorbarn.com/ or http://www.dpgoff-road.com/site/radiators.htm both have excellent quality radiators. I got the all metal 3 core and have no problems in the summer, wheeling or not...Tj

Default RADIATOR.

Just a heads up to everyone. I had osted that Reliable Radiator was a place to get a good radiator. well don't use them. after 5 days i contacted them to see where my radiator was and they still hadn't shipped it and now it would be around a month before they could get one to me. I apologize for posting their name on here it won't happen again.

I found an all metal three row on ebay for mine when I did the open system conversion on my 87. It has been a great rad, and find one that is all metal, that way it can be repaired, rather than replaced!! HTH!!

I have the all-metal 2 row from radiator barn and it works great even in 105 degree heat with the AC blasting while sitting in traffic. I'm not really sure that the 3 row is really necessary for an XJ.

I am sure that plastic/metal combo radiators are pure garbage because they end up leaking on pretty much every vehicle I've owned. It's kind of a pain to replace the radiator so I'd rather pay another $40 to get one that's not going to be leaking again next year.
