New bumper on it's way.....
I just ordered a non winch bumper (Logans on e-bay) and while it's in transit I want to get all my ducks in a row to prepare for the install. I'll relocate the vac ball and possibly relocate the horns. I'm not sure if the bolts come with the bumper. Other than painting it, is there anything else I need to do to make the swap painless? The frame plates I'll be powder coating but the bumper will be painted. I have a few ideas for a brush guard that will be welded on and it's a lot easier to remove paint than powder coat....
Steering box spacer?
Any additional supports?

When ever I have bought any aftermarket bumpers they always give you Grade 5 bolts and not Grade 8 bolts. Pickup good Grade 8 bolts & hardware even if they supply it.
Otherwise, it sounds like you'll be good to go, post up Picts of whee you mount the horns & canister.

I think I have this covered. Just ordered a spacer & bolts from JCR. If I understand this correctly, the bumper I ordered comes with "tie ins". It doesn't bolt to the stock locations... Just hope the steering box bolts are forgiving. I'll be drenching them with PB and Kroil till the bumper arrives.....

That's great to hear. I'm psyched to get it. I've been waiting for a long time to get a new bumper and this one looked like it would fit my purposes. Do you have a list of the bolt sizes required? If you got it a short time ago, I'm betting you got a killer deal on it. I believe it was on sale for somewhere around $180 shipped! I didn't have the loot available at the time so I paid quite a bit more but I'm still pleased with what I paid.
I know I'm putting the cart before the horse but I'm planning on fabbing up a grill guard (deer strainer) for it.
Something similar to this (although this is on a winch bumper)....

I contacted the seller and they don't come with the one I bought. I can get them cheaper locally, just need to know exactly what size/quantity etc. etc..... I'll use JCR's instructions which lists them. I would imagine they would be the same.

That's one thing I miss about the old body shop days. We had a jack that was designed for lifting bumpers and holding them in place. Damn thing worked slick as hell. I'm the kinda guy that likes to do stuff by myself and keep it kinda secret until done. It bugs me when I have to have a friend come over to help with anything. I don't like to have to bother them with something that seems so simple at times.
