So you're saying you don't recommend using full-time at all with one in either the rear or front? Or both?
Correct, we don't recommend using Full-Time 4WD, or AWD with any auto locker, front or rear. If your t-case has these options, as well as 2hi, 4hi, 4lo, you can install an auto locker, just use the 2hi, 4hi, 4lo options.

I will have to disagree with this. I come from the zj world where the np249 is commonplace (awd t-case) many many zj owners put auto lockers in the rear of their rigs with no issue...however you cannot have auto lockers f/r with the awd t-case and expect your drive train to last.

they don't recommend it doesn't mean you can't do it. It's probably not the best idea, but there's a lot of things people do that aren't the best idea.

I had my first drive on an icey road up a snowy mountain this past weekend with a lunch box front locker. I started to slip so I put it in full time. Was OK driving slow but as soon as I hit about 10mph, the next ice patch I hit, my jeep just wanted to go allover the road. It scared me. I put it back in 2wd and changed my driving habits and it made for a nicer drive

I get that, but when someone asks for something to be reiterated like that usually they're asking to understand if the risk for damage can be acceptable or not.

So those of us that have had experience with the awd systems and a rear locker with no issues feel that driving the point home that it's "not recommended" is the wrong tone.

Saying "it's not recommended, but there are many folks that have run it with little to no issue in other applications" is more correct.
