Default Need help with ZJ tie rod upgrade.

So I purchased a ZJ tie rod from a V8 Grand Cherokee from the local pick n pull. I believe it was a 98 Grand Cherokee. After getting home and looking at mine i realized it is different than what i have on now.

Did I get the wrong one? It looks like the one in the picture.

I got mine off of Amazon for $94.13 delivered (Long, short and sleeve). No one locally was carrying MOOG parts.

It's supposed to look different. The one you have pictured is an XJ/TJ and 4.0 liter ZJ one.

Here's what a V8 ZJ one looks like:

AutoZone brand is Moog also mine are. Used steering parts are like re using toilet paper, buy new just to cheap to pass on.

The lower one in photo is the correct one and it is solid steel, is the one you bought at the JY a rolled tube?

That is the I6 ZJ tie rod (probably the same as the XJ stock tie rod)

You want the tie rod from the V8 ZJ (pic is posted in this thread). It has a few bends in it, and it is solid steel.
Is the one you have hollow like the factory one?

The one i have is th same set up but is alot bigger around than the one in the picture. If it was the correct part it would be an upgrade for sure. Well i guess i will be trying to sell this one and find one that will work!

Thanks!
