Need help! WJ seats in my XJ (power driver w/ memory)
Hello all,
Desperate for some assistance.
I have an 01 XJ limited w/ power seats. Currently trying to splice to WJ driver seat. The Passenger went on w/ out a hitch. However, I am unable to get the driver seats to operate.
In desperate need to find a wiring diagram of a power driver seats in a 2000 WJ Grand Cherokee w/ memory. So, that I can splice all the necessary hot wires together and get this seat back into my Jeep.
There are 2 main plugs to the WJ seat. I just need to ensure, I have the proper hot wires connected. Greatly appreciate all the help...
Appreciate any and all assistance.

One other thing...the power seats from the WJ are wired for Memory and as such have "sensors" for the wiring harness.
I do know the motors work when 12V goes directly to the motor. confused without a wiring diagram on these.
I've searched the inter-webs for a good bit and nothing seems to show me what Im looking for. Hopefully someone has ran into this problem and has some familiarity.

appreciate the help. I did find that site... unfortunately here is my predicament.
I wire the "12V" to the harness shown in picture 1.
The second picture, I tested continuity to the red and black on those pins. The problem is... it simply will not engage the motors. I believe the orange harness or possibly the first harness may need to be grounded or pins shorted to get this to work.

Of course this is a guy who made his own pirate radio station that he cobbled together from parts he had lying around. Took an old circuit board, soldered in stuff, hooked it up to a antenna, hooked up some other stuff, attached to his computer, and could go for walks around the neighborhood listening to music off his computer on a FM radio using one of the lower frequencies. The range on this on a good day was crazy.
Hopefully somebody else will chime in.

Forgive me in advance. I am reading on that site and the statements:
That the grounds for both seats should run to one location.
And
PCI Bus, power, and ground must run between the 2 seats as per the chart.
So both seats are connected?

So, I do know this. The motors go to the orange plug. Problem is, I don't how to incorporate the switch exactly. So i have that to figure out.
I may be able to jump the plug to the particular switches to get it to work. Should be "fun."
If someone out there has a drawing that could help... i would extremely grateful.
thanx

HOLY COW! figured it out. In my haste to clean up all the wiring, I zip-tied the seat module under the front bracket. What I didn't realize is that the module is where that orange plug needed to go into. I thought it was plugged into the floor of the WJ.
Anyways, that's pretty much it. I was nearly about to start bypassing the seat module when i saw a picture of it on ebay.
So, yeah. You just need to wire the red and black... and it works.

I am sorry to bother you.
So I have been thinking about what you did.
Curious as to not how but what.
So you found '00 WJ seats with memory.
So at this link:
http://wjjeeps.com/seats/seats.htm
With all the seat choices which ones did you use.
Ten-way power drivers seat with Memory and Six -way power passenger seat?
or
Ten-way power drivers and passenger seats with Memory?
Now the first one looks like only the driver's seat has memory, power recliner, and lumbar adjustments. Passenger is just a 6 way power seat just like stock in an XJ with power seats.
The second one looks like both seats have memory, power recliner, and lumbar adjustments.
Now it looks like the memory, power recliner, and lumbar adjustments are part of the seat themselves. Not on the power seat base.
Is this correct?
So does that mean you put both seats on the XJ power seat bases?
And if so which plastic trim did you use?
The XJ or the WJ?
I am guessing you used the WJ plastic trim with all the switches.
Reason I am asking.
Wondering if it would be possible to use the memory and power recliner part in an XJ seat.
Thinking using the lumbar supports from the WJ seats in XJ seats is not possible.
Might be something I might to play with if I come across the right seats in the boneyard.

I'll give you the short and skinny.
The weats were WJ and have the lumbar and power (both seats). The driver seat had the memory module. I don't believe this can be incorporated into XJs because it seems that these actually tie into the computer of the WJs to engage the memory.
I don't know for certain that the seats have heat or not. I'm not really concerned about it though.
Yes, I tied the entire seat w/ plastic portion (side) to the limited power seat tracks. I did have to "trim" the plastic, because it was catching on the XJs frame some. It wouldn't allow me to put the screws into the XJ's frame without modding the plastic.
The other method that people do is use manual sliding tracks, and then they only use the power recline function.
I hope that answers your questions some. The WJ seats are far more comfy than the XJs were. Little bit of a pain in the *** (seats are heavy and awkward) but definitely worth it. Good luck-

So only the driver's seat has memory.
This function does not work?
Do the seats have the power recliner?
Driver's or both?
If so does this work?
Did you get the lumbar to work?

Yes, the power recliner is there for both seats and works.
The lumbar work as well too (both seats).
The seats are much more comfy and would highly recommend them. Just a little bit of a pain in the butt to install. But not that bad. Probably would only take me about an hour now since I've done it before.

Curious if it will bolt up to a XJ seat frame and if I can get it to work.
I see them on Ebay but don't want to pay that much plus I am going to need some wiring too.
