using the seats memory without original stereo?

using the seats memory without original stereo?
hey,
just got an XJ 2001 and working my way getting to know the car.
trying to get the wife hooked on the car and she really digs it except comlaining that the gas pedal is too damn far away. (she is kinda short)
everytime she gets in the driver`s seat it takes her about 5 minutes to align the seat the right way for her, and every time i get in after her the same.
here`s the question:
I don`t have the original stereo and the prices I saw online are really too rich for my blood.
is there anyone who figured out a way to utilize the memory feature without the original stereo.
I`d love to hear if so, or even any kind of lead.

New one on me too. The memory feature is on the WJ and if IIRC the limited ZJ. And yoi uhave to have electric seats
