Default Need help with lift height

1990 XJ, 2dr all stock. I'm slowly gathering all my parts for my lift (building on a budget).

So far, I have new, never used 4.5" RC coils and a set of s10 leafs (4 leaf pack). I've read the write ups and believe in low COG but I don't want to have my lift lower than 4.5". I'll be running 33x12.5's.

My issue is that my front bumper I made is about 80 lbs and my winch is about 40 lbs. How much will it lower my front end? Will it lower the lift to 3.5", 3.75"', 4", etc... Like I said, I want to keep it at 4.5" and have to make my bastard pack match the front. Worse case scenario, I have 2" coil spacers to bring the front back up, I'll just work my rear pack to match as well.

Some additional info if it matters....I've gathered adjustable LCA's, longer UCA's, adjustable track bar, track bar drop bracket (I think that's what its called), adjustable sway bar links and extended brake lines. Just need shocks.

Cheers

Sounds like you got a pretty decent parts list, as far as the weight of the bumper i dont think it will make a significant difference, ive got a custom front bumper on my xj and it still sits at about 4.5", worse case is if it sits a little lower throw on some small 3/4" or 1" coil spacers. also the rear should "settle" as you drive and wheel it so it should even it out, if the bumper weighs it down, which it may not.

Thanks for the advice. I'm wondering if I should do just the 4.5" or throw the spacers on too and just go to 6.5" .... what do you think?

If you go to 6.5" you'll probably be needing a SYE.

Well that's the biggest contradiction I've read in a while. "I believe in LCOG, and I'm wondering if I should go to 6.5"
Don't go to 6.5". Things get REALLY expensive after 4.5"

You got a nice parts list and with your bumper and winch you may drop maybe a 1/4inch if any at all just depends if your coils are rated for a winch bumper or not. And you wont need the tb drop bracket if you have the adjustable tb . I got a complete rc 4.5 " lift and it sits at that hight with my bumper and winch

My first lift was rc 4.5. with the new coils i put on a 80lb bumper and 80lb winch with cable and mine sat level at 4.5 inches. Over time itll probly sag some but off the bat u usually get a bit more height than posted. If it sags get a a spacer to bring it level. It wont sag 2 inches, no where close.

I have a 3.5 RC lift that lifted an actual 4.5 inches.

So i bet an RC 4.5 isn't going to actually lift 4.5 lol

I meant that if it's going to sag, I might as well put the spacers in to bring it back up close to 4.5".

So I wont need a drop bracket if i have an adjustable TB? If i install it as well, wont it help to keep all my steering components at a decent horizontal level and avoid any steep angles? Thanks for the insight.

Yeah, my front coils seems really stiff so i hope there wont be sag. Seems like you have a bit more weight too.
