Default Need help with lift

I'm looking to lift my 96' Jeep Cherokee Sport. I'd like to put around 3" of lift on it. I was going to just do spacers and blocks but after reading on here a little bit there seems to be a lot of negativity towards this method.

What I'd like to know is what is the best way for me to get 3" of lift and still save some money. Also if I lift my Jeep 3" is there anything else that will need to be changed.

BDS 3" is right around $500.

Pretty fair price.

Link worked fine for me.

For $200 bucks you will either need to a build a lift from Junk Yard parts or go with a 2" Spacer and 2" Shackle combo.

Search Junk Yard Lift for lots of threads and parts list

There are a few for 200 that would be spacers and add a leafs. which would be ok for looks and mild wheeling.

If your not going to be wheeling hard, then you don't need a spendy lift. And even so, a spacer and add a leaf lift does ok for what it is. I mean it's still on a Jeep. My buddy runs that with 31's and it does just what he wants it to do.

That's pretty much all I'm looking for is looks and maybe playing in the mud a little. I'm not looking to build any type of trail machine or anything. I just saw on here some people say that spacers and blocks do damage to the springs. Is that only if your pushing the rig hard?

Budget does always drive our builds. You can get the Rough Country 3" with add-a-leaf for $256. Understand, that it will be a rough ride compared to stock.

Free shipping is over from this vendor, but it still looks like 10% off.

I'm kind of liking the Rough Country 3" for 255. There's a spring place by me that installs leaf springs. I'm not sure how much they charge. I've never done leaf springs before. How hard is it to add a leaf myself?

VERY easy, just make sure your stock leafs are in good condition, or they will SAG LIKE CRAZY
