need help with ignition wire for cooling fan please
Ok, so I'm about to start my cooling fan upgrade. In the wiring diagram it shows 1 of the wires going to the ignition or switch. I want it to run automatically cause I'll forget it and thats not good. Can someone please tell me which wire to hook up to under the hood? My research shows that I have "2" ignition wires, 1 is blue I think and the "secondary" is orange/black I think, but these are in the steering colum or there abouts. Also why do I have "2"?? is 1 to start, and the secondary to run?
I'm not all that great at wiring but I can follow instructions. Please help as I dont wanna burn my jeep to the ground.
Thank you for all your help, advice and tips.
Oh and by the way I have a 1998 cherokee sport, 4.0, auto.

I was thinking what if I just run that wire to a constant power source, like say something in the fuse block. Would that mean that now the fan would continue running even after the engine is off and would stop once the engine is cool? Is this a good idea or bad?

I wouldn't know what wire to hook it up to but if you get a DMM you can test a line by making sure nothing is on the line while the key is in the off position and then turn on your car to see if 12V is there. If so then use that line!
If you hook the fan up to a constant power source then yes the fan will keep running even while the car is off. You would need a switch to tie it to ground to turn it off.
