The boot on my driver's-side outter tie-rod end split so I went ahead and replaced the whole tie-rod. The jeep drove straight and the steering wheel was dead straight before I did it. The jeep still tracks straight but now only when the steering wheel is about the 1 o'clock possition. When I turn it straight, it vears left. Does anybody know if I screwed the tie-rod in too far, or maybe not enough?

Usually you can count the threads on the old tie rod end, to the point where it hits the tie rod. and then match the same amount of threads on the new one. pretty easy.

Yeah I tried doing that but the replacement tie-rod wasn't quite the same length as the original. Guess I'll try tweeking it a couple times to see if I can stumble on the correct setting. I don't really want to pay for an alignment just for this.
