I have lift springs on my '96 XJ Sports, and measured from the top of axles to underside of frame rail and got the following;
Front 9.25" Rear 8.75'"
I had some info that stock measurement is Front 6.75" and rear 6"
am aware that Sports are apparently 1" higher than some other stock models from the factory
The above measurements imply a lift of 2.5 to 2.75", maybe it is a settled 3"
When I measure half wheel height to flare, its approx 20" all round, but that doesnt seem as accurate, more room for measurement error

I have always liked the idea of measuring axle to frame distance. Just seems like a more accurate way. Of coarse I have measured a couple different stock height Cherokees and they were not exactly the same. Obviously there is some variances because of different spring rates and amounts of wear.
