Default Measuring Rear shock length

So I ordered some 6in lift Rusty's RX100 shocks. Front fit and are working great. Rear is a different story, becuase i didnt take in consideration im running an 8.8 with raised shock mounts. I should have measured for the shock i need back there because im bottoming out extremely easy.

At ride height from eye to eye im at 19 1/2 in. I have only 2 1/4 inches of compression before the shock bottoms. How many inches of compression do you guys reccomend? Can i use shocks say for a 4inch lift with a shorter total compressed length?

Anyone have an idea what one inch at the shock translates into how many inches of travel at the wheel?

Thanks!

U need to take off your shock and flex and compress the axle. Measure the lengths then order shocks with those numbers

I ended up doing a little fab and making new shock towers in the cargo area. This way i can run the longer shock with good droop but also have 5 inches of compression

Ill try to snag a pic tommrow. What i did was use a hole saw and cut a hole in the cargo area right above the org. shock mounting locations then pulled them up about an inch above the floor. I used a piece of an old engine stand square stock 1/4 thick. Torched out a square hole in the bottom, drilled a hole through the side to through bolt the shock.

Fully Welded the square stock to the cargo floor. I beat on it pretty good going through some whoop sections etc. Seems real smooth and sturdy. i have 5in compression and 10in droop now
