Hey guys!
So I'm new at all this, and I don't know a whole lot about cars (but more than most girls
)
I just bought a 99 XJ and it has a switch for the radiator fan. How difficult is it to switch back to the electric fan? Or should I leave it as is?
Thanks!

Basically, there is a mechanical fan (belt driven) and an electric fan on your XJ from the factory.
It sounds like the previous owner put in an over-ride switch for the electric fan. I am 99% sure if you leave that switch in the "off" position, it will mean the fan will kick on at the factory intervals.
You can test this by turning the A/C on and off, and making sure the fan turns on with the A/C.
IIRC, in 2000 - that operation changed to only turn on the electric fan when the system was hot enough, instead of any time the A/C compressor was on.
