Default Radiator fan override switch

After reading several posts on different forums, I decided to try fyrfytr1717's method(fron NAXJA). I get the fan to come on and off with the switch. However, I now have a CEL(P1490) Aux emissions control on all the time. I also can not run the fan if the ignition switch is off. I spliced th ST-run(blue wire with white tracer in the smaller harness running along the fender on the driver side. I used the bigger harness for the dark blue wire with pink tracer. The jeep is an 01 auto. Can I do something easy to get rid of the CEL. How do I get the fan to run after shutting off the engine/(w/o rewiring)

my question is why do you want it to run after the ignition is off. seems like a good way to kill ur battery

well i think ur stuck with the CEL but if you ran the power and ground wire directly off the battery then if it should run all the time

Idk how to get around the code but wiring a switch to run the fan is pretty easy. But I run power from the Acc ports on the interior fuse panel to the switch, then splice it into the relay in charge of the fan. That way you can energize the relay with the engine off but key in the on position.
