i have a 88 with the 4.0 id like to make a cold air intake what have you done to make yours? any pics or a parts list to what i would need? thanks Dan

 

Only real cold air for a xj is a snorkel or something of the sort. Those "heat shields" do nothing.

 

I took a 90* pipe from the ricer section in autozone along with cheap cone filter and slapped those on a trimmed 3 inch ehaust pipe. Drilled a hole for the return in the middle and strapped her in. And i still agree with the fact that the only cold air intake is a snorkle or a cowl hood mood similar to the one ericsxj did.
