Making a V6 Sound like a V8?
What Exhaust setup would I have to run to make my 4.0 sound like a v8? Atleast sound aggressive when playin in the mud?

Oh lord... First of all welcome to the forum.
Second your engine is an inline six not a v6
If you want it louder look at the performance curve kits for the xj.
I myself prefer the flowmaster 44.
There is a whole thread dedicated to this kind of talk.

I am running the Flowmaster 44 and I have been asked if I had a V8 XJ. It sounds really good, not to annoying.

Easiest way is to buy a v8 and swap it in. An inline 6 is never going to sound like a v8. I have run a Flowmaster Super 40, 44 and now a 10 and none of them sound like v8's. They sound nice but not v8 nice.

Best you're gonna get is an exhaust overhaul. You want all new pipe starting with the header and running 2.5" all the way back with a high flow cat and a Flowmaster Super44 muffler.

haha what a horrible introduction to the forum... anyways, i have a flowthrough flowmaster super 44 (maybe 40) and it sounds suprisingly like a mustang at low revs. in the higher revs it changes but at stop lights it sounds money.

Straight pipe is most aggressive obviously. Many run flowmaster 40 and 44. That's about the loudest tone you can get besides glass packs that still sound good

Seriously, guys, cool the hate. He just wants his XJ to sound aggressive. Half the people on this forum have either asked this or searched for the same info.

no hate here... my jeep probably sounds as close as you can get to a v8... straight pipe to muffler... yeah I need a cat... bought it that way....
actually I'm a little embarrassed how 'aggressive' it sounds as it doesn't look the part, jeep sleeper?? maybe
