So, I'm excited. My 97 XJ sport (5 speed) is in the shop getting a new cat back magnaflow, and a new cat also. At 207k miles, the cat pretty much fell apart, so, time for some new stuff.
Question is, obviously my cat and muffler are shot. The cat's been rattling for a few months now. Will I notice significant increases in mpg's and/or power?
Also, does anyone have experience with magnaflows? There weren't a WHOLE lot of posts. How are they for power, looks, and especially sound?
I like loud enough to notice, but not annoyingly loud. But especially I like if it sounds good. I'd rather have a quieter exhaust that sounds nice than a loud one that sounds crappy. Any feedback is much appreciated.

Magnaflow is awesome, did you get the Maggy catback kit? Or new muffler + custom bent piping?
If you got the kit, you definitely overpaid, but magnaflow is awesome.

Bought the muffler and cat and had a shop here bend everything up. I also did one of their stainless tips and a flex pipe in there too.

Magnaflow has the 75.00 rebate on systems. Bought mine for 145.00 but getting 75.00 back.
If you need the Cat its gonna be more but anything has to breathe easier than the stock system. So get a high flow Cat also.

I run the Magnaflow cat and muffler on my jeep and it sounds good. Its not loud but you do notice it.....I did the magnaflow cat with a flowmaster muffler on my buddies jeep and I like the way his sounds better. But either way still good quality pieces and you will be happy!

Thanks for the replies all. I just gotter back from the shop a few ago. I only drove about a dozen miles, but I'm pretty happy. Sounds nice, looks nice too, although I will be rattle canning the tip flat black. Honestly, I wish it were a little louder, but that's just cuz I have aircooled VW's, which are WAY too loud.
All in all, I'm happy now, and assume I will be only more so in the future.

I had a magnaflow and liked the tones that it gave off but wasn't surprised to see that I didn't get any + MPG's. But months after I installed I totalled my Jeep and after I got a new jeep from insurance I decided to go with dynomax just for a test try because of price. Both are very similar in my opinion, Magnaflow does have a extend a better grunt but im not for sure if its worth the extra money truthfully...
I got 2 1/2 pipes from the manifold back and no cat with thrush welded and a tip and its awesome and its not to loud if you have the rear 02 sensor just keep it connected and hang it up some where and the check engine light will not come on I promise that's how mine is
