Lunchbox Lockers
I am doing a lunchbox locker in my rear (C8.25 w/ 31 inch BFGs). I've heard the powertrax no-slip is the quietest operating locker, but it does cost about $150 more than an Aussie.
Does anyone on her have a powertrax? Thought? I'm happy to pay the price difference if it really is that quiet. The jeep makes enough clunks and what not that I'd rather not have to explain another.

I have a powertrax no-slip, my buddy has one in a Lincoln town car, and my girlfriend's dad has one in his wrangler. They're worth the extra bucks in my opinion. Very rarely will I hear any noise from the locker. Sometimes it'll load up funny and make a pop, but it's always a single pop and absolutely no ratcheting. If you hammer it around a corner it will chirp the tires, but that's to be expected with any autolocker. I've had mine with 31s, 33s, and 35s without a problem for the past 40,000ish miles.

I wouldn't pay the extra price for the No Slip, I use 85w140 gear oil in my axles and my Spartan lockers don't make that much noise at all. I have also installed Aussie lockers that were the same way.

I've heard some people complain about them (there's always someone to complain about anything), but I am very happy with having Aussie USA made lockers in both my 8.25 and d30.

I run a No Slip in my Dana 30. In the past I've ran Lock Rights in Dana 30s of two other XJs and IMO the No Slip is better if you do a lot of street driving as well. With exception of full lock turns I never hear anything out of my No Slip on the road and off pavement it locks up as good as my other Lock Rights. The NO Slip does have a few extra parts inside so it may not be quite as reliable as a something like a Lock Right but I haven't had any issues from mine yet.

I have LOKKAs front and rear. The only noticeable clicking I have is when I am in a parking lot making tight turns getting in and out of a parking space. There is one other noise that I cannot hear inside the Jeep. In the rocks if you stand outside you can hear a slight "ping" every few seconds. Very feint, but is just the locker unlocking on one side and grabbing the other

I have a Lock Right In my 30. It's been in 2 other Jeeps so it is definitely a used piece. It makes 0 noise in 2 or 4wd. Well, other than the tires spinning on rocks. If it's set up correctly it should be silent.
