Default Are lunchbox lockers sufficient?

Are lock-rights, Aussies.. etc just fine? I need to do a gear change and was wondering if i should go with a lunchbox locker or invest in a full size Detroit locker instead. Money is an issue however and If I went with a detroit locker etc I would be many months before i can even complete a gear change front and rear.

Lunchbox will feed your needs.
personnally if you have the do to spend, get an ox selectable. If your budget is strained Spartan, Powertrax, Lockrite will work.
I have lockrite front D30 with cable disco, powertrax rear D35 non C clip.
Works on the street and moderate whelling, I don't get stuck too deep with out surrender to the strap.
Don't get excited and get rammy with the gas pedal. Your stuff will hold together. Get rammy and you will get shock loads and breakage.

Lunchbox lockers are fine to use, They are not as strong as a full case locker like Detroit or ARB. I have run them in several Jeeps I've built, an I have a Spartan in my XJ . When I regear my Jeeps I've always taken out the Lunchbox lockers an installed ARB's

Lunchbox lockers work fine, but the full case lockers are stronger and help the keep the axle shafts and ring and pinion from breaking from deflection.

Aussie for the win. Lock the front first, then the back.

That's a thread jack.

Stop it.

Why is it a fad? I locked my front first cause thats where the weight is, and the control. Well that and when I needed a locker there was a d30 Aussie on craigslist :-)
