I realize this, but the op's claimed power is much more than what frankz has. Sarcasm over the internet is hard to see.

You people and your wacky V8 upgrades.

500+ ponys is alot...depending on application i would suggest a built 9" ford rear and a 44 front...or if you are headed to the rocks dana 60s f/r or 60/14bff...all depends on tire size and intended use

Better check the width of the new engine with your complete exhaust installed, my 84 2Dr has about 3/8" clearance on drivers side frame rail and less than that on the steering shaft with a 383" small block installed. I haven't messed with the newer blocks but they look a little wider to me, not saying it won't work, just be a skilled fabricater when you start, Semper Fi, Do or Die, U.S.M.C., 67 to 71, Chevokeeman.

Check Ballistic Fabrication, they make the ladder bar mounts and the lower link doesn't stick down below the axle tube for good off-road clearance. Chevokeeman.

What did you do for exhaust? I have block huggers and it's extremely tight.

I had Hooker block huggers as well, far as I know thats the only header thats narrow enough to fit between the rails without modifications. I ran 2 1/2" pipe from headers into a double 2 1/2" into a 3" Flowmaster "Y" pipe, 3" pipe just past the crossmember to a 3" Flowmaster muffler and 3" pipe out the rear, it has a awsome throaty sound, everyone looks as it goes past. If you find other headers that might fit, let everyone know as I am sure that it might make it easier on someone doing a conversion. I thought about S-10 Conversion headers but the front tube looks like it would be in the way of the steering shaft and the frame rail. Later, Chevokeeman.
