ls1 cherokee
Hey im new to the this forum idea here ive been building xjs for about 8 years now and ive finally come into an idea thats a bit in depth putting an ls1 in to a 1984 cherokee ive got an sm 465 fours speed and an np205 behind it im roughly at bout 560 horsepower and 510 lb ft of torque im trying to figure out a ladder bar set up and which axles to toss under this thing any ideas?

so you've already got the motor in?
post some pictures.
as for the ladder bars....dont do ladderbars, unless you're just trying to build some street jeep or strictly mud truck

Most likely the case..
But HD frame stiffeners custom crossmember, built axles at least D44's frt/rear, custom d-shafts, upgraded steering These will all help to an extent.

why? because its an XJ?
it can be made to hold just fine, theres a guy down here running a SB454 with a few stages of nitrous in his XJ, along with some massive tires. the thing makes regular 10 second passes and it doesnt seem to be resembling a taco.

there is a point where it's better of to do one of 2 things.....buy a bunch of steel, a bender,and a welder and build a buggy...or start with a k5 blazer..sorry i love my heep but sometimes you gotta go with a different vessel

Lol, if these don't give it away, then people are truly lost.
What was your last figure Frank? 300+ hp? No way that coulda come from a 4.0, unless you welded on 2 extra cylinders, made a custom head, etc etc.
