I'm about 5'10" and a little on the husky side. I have a '91 with manual seats and I don't have any problems getting in. Maybe I'm just used to it anymore. If you want your seats to go lower, maybe you can get power seats. The one's in my old '92 would adjust up and down. When down, they sit a bit lower then the manual seats do and are more adjustable. When I get around to it, I'm going to take them out of my parts XJ and put them in my DD.

The simplest thing would be deal with it. I am 6'2" and do OK - although I have also wondered about lowering them. My only issue is bonking my head on the top of the window hole when sticking my head out the window off road....which I do constantly
.
I know there are no "bolt on" solutions I have heard of. If maintaining stock mounting locations, I think this would just be a fab job. A lot more trouble than it is worth for my standards.

6'3 and fit in my 2 door just fine. Have troubles getting in a 4 door sometime though. You could always get some big boy brackets if you really feel like you need more room.

I'm 6'5", and want more headroom. I've been thinking of going to a fabricator and having the driver's seat brackets cut down.
I saw your mention of "big boy brackets".
Can you tell me what they are, and where to get them?
Thanks

OK, I think I found them: http://www.4wd.com/Jeep-Interior-Par...pn=MSCJBBXJ250
The thing is, these move the seat back, versus down.
I'd like to go back an additional inch, or two, as well, but an inch or two down is much more important.
Since the seats bolt to these, and they bolt to the sliders, it seems like they act as a spacer, and actually move you a bit higher.
I have an '89 Formula Firebird. I swapped out the Firebird seat brackets for Fiero seat brackets, and the difference was incredible. The Fiero brackets are only about 1 1/4" lower, but it feels like much more.
I'd love to find a way to sit 2" lower in my XJ
