Thats what did the trick for me. Passenger side was fine, driver was siezed pretty good.

Cut off wheel and a pry bar did the trick.

The factory bolts are slightly smaller than the sleeve in bushing. There must be a lot of corrosion if the bolt seizes to the sleeve.
For my control arm bolts, just have to relieve tension on the arm and bolts pull out by hand. 1996 model

I encountered this on my brother's XJ we recently lifted. The ball joint press did the trick for me! We pressesed the bolt until it was flush with the mount. Then we finished it off with a Mac air hammer. That thing eventually launched out and may or may not have hit a customers car two bays down... Haha.

We literally tried everything and that thing was not budging. Best of luck to ya!

Yea, it was sad to see the pics you posted and that it had to be scrapped after all the effort put into it.

Well still don't have it off yet. My problem was the clearance from my cutoff wheel and the support on the frame, so I'm gonna buy some bigger cutoff wheels and keep my fingers crossed. I'm no mechanic but I figured this would be a 6-8 hour job... I'll get it! Thanks so much for the advice!

Nah not getting scrapped yet. If anyone has some rust-free frame sills they'd like to ship up here I'd appreciate it!

I was lucky mine came out using a pry bar and a punch after soaking for 2 days prior to removing.

Well, I finally got the control arms off. My advice if all else above fails is to use the angle grinder with a cut off wheel. My recommendation is to use at least a 6" wheel for extra clearance around the mounting bracket. This required removing the guard for normal angle grinders
