loud rumble noise, any clues?
hi guys, new to the forum here, long time jeeper, many yj`s, tj`s, and few stock xj`s,i lifted my 2001 xj 4.5",and it`s the only one in 18 years that has been givin me problems,,,, TC dropped, SYE in place, short arms replaced, but still got a loud rumble and slight vib that seems to be coming from the front, any clues? i will take the front drive shaft out today and go fo a spin and see, more than likely it`s the problem. thanks.

Most likely the double cardon on the front drive shaft. Put it in 4 low and drive up a steep incline very slowly. If you hear/feel the Rumble 3-4 times for every rotation of the tires then that's your culprit.

A buddy had he same prob, we popped his drive shaft out and the vib was gone. We checked the yolk on the front axle and had a boat load of slop.He got a good deal on d30 so we swapped and the vibe is gone.

I just got a rumbling vibe from what I believe is on the front driver side tire. I'll try to take a look at it tomorrow and see what I come up with. It doesn't pull and is really only noticeable at slower speeds.
Edit: I have a full traction LA lift... How do you tell if the uca and lca are at fault? What exactly should I look for. I only ask because someone posted that this was a problem.
