Sounds like a profitable lawsuit. Thank you for the clarification.

IDK about profitable, but would be worth stopping their shady ways.

I'm pretty new to the forum and working on Vendor status. I'll post up a new thread soon.

Thanks for the feedback.
Cora thanks for getting involved here. Unfortunately, I'll have both axles full of lokka parts if I can get around to putting the front in. BUT that definitely won't be the last locker I buy. Thanks for the info

Not to sure of any success in a lawsuit Aussie will have, LOKKA manufactured for Aussie their lockers until 2012, according to Cora at Aussie to Aussie specs and design (so its a different design than LOKKA according to her), but as most of you know most lunchbox lockers are very similar in design - LOKKA, Spartan, PowerTrax, and Aussie.

Now according to Cora Aussie uses 9310 hardened alloy steel, but what does LOKKA use? (I am trying to find out) not sure if its any different.

NOTE: LOKKA offers a 3 year warranty vs. Aussie 2 year warranty so the quality of steel has to be similar.

LOKKA has been manufacturing their Lockers for around 15 years, Aussie has been manufacturing their own now for 3 years.

Then compare price (WITH SHIPPING since Aussie charges shipping), For both Dana 30 and Chrysler 8.25 you will find LOKKA is $437 ($10 more if purchased seperately) vs. $574 (shipped to Florida) for Aussie, so $137 more for Aussie.

Now I agree, I prefer to keep my money in the USA when feasible and if that is important to you then go for it.

I probably would not be so bold to post this, but I think Aussie drawing a fine line between posting help and spamming their product on the boards... this is not the first post I have seen of similar nature from them and I am surprised the MODS have not said something yet, but as long as their posts are more SELLING than ASSISTING I will point out these differences to be fair to members.

And no... I have no affiliation with LOKKA, and so far I have only used SPARTAN Lunch boxes which I chose for my last rig because it came with a new hardened pin.

But yes, a set of LOKKA's are in my near future unless Aussie gets a little closer in price... then I will probably run one brand in my Cherokee and another in my daughters and post to the group a review of both products.

I have had my Lokka In my 8.25 since December. It just plain works. No issues so far.

As for the Aussie Locker brand I fail to see where Lokka is doing anything wrong legally. They did sell their lockers under that name here for some time that is a fact. Also they are a respected company in the Australian 4 wheeling community. And where else can you get a locker shipped for 250.00 and all the way from Brisbane AU to Michigan in 3 days?

Let me see if I can help clarify a few questions:

Design Questions - In 2012 when we moved manufacturing to the USA our Engineer redesigned the entire Aussie Locker line after almost 10 years of customer and tech feedback. Significant changes were made to the cam gear design for increased cross pin reliability, the tooth design to quiet the ratcheting and overall locker dimensions for better fitment in OE carriers. Since the redesign our warranty claims have fallen to a handfull a year.

Warranty - a warranty is only as good as the company that will honor it. If you compare other auto-locker companies, they have 1 or 3 year warranties with tire size and or horsepower limitations. The fine print is very important to read - not just the year term. I would highly suggest reading the fine print in regards to lock-out hubs and fuel injected vehicles when comparing the Aussie Warranty. The Aussie Locker lists none of these limitations and has a reputation in the community for honoring their warranty.

Shipping - we ship same day from NY, any returns ship to NY, any phone calls are to NY.

Who's selling what? The Aussie Locker has only been sold by Torq-Masters direct to our customers or through our dealer network. We have no dealers in Australia.

Hope this helps point out the differences between Aussie Locker and Lokka. When we see comments saying the two Lockers are the same - like previously stated in this thread on page 1 - it's important to us to chime in to help protect our brand.

FYI - Vendor status is in process. Looking forward to continuing the conversation and helping support the community with tech support.

I dont know man. I got my Lokkas from Aus in 3 days, faster than a header I had coming from Florida. One of them was missing the springs and pin kit and they overnighted it to me. Im really happy with the performance of it. It is a lil loud, but its not like anything is quiet on my jeep. Lokka has a A+ in my book

I know a few people running the lokka with no issues. I have been wanting one for my 29-spline 8.25 in my XJ, but I have been putting money into my MJ so funds are slim for that currently.
Did a quick search and found these. Looks like "Cora" is trying to drum up business.

I'm new to the forums and trying to catch up on Aussie related or tagged threads.

I was pretty shocked to see that everyone seems to think Aussie Locker and Lokka are the same thing - across a few forums. My goal in posting here is not to drum up business, but to protect our brand identity by showing you how the two companies differ and to offer tech support to the community.

If you are curious as to who 'Cora' is, check our the Aussie Locker FB page to see me wrenching and wheeling on the Aussie Locker promotional vehicles in our shop.

Happy trails!

Geez guys, step back and see the whole picture!!

Here we have a "vendor in process" who can potentially help this site.
She comes on here very politely and gives us an update on the Aussie Locker, which is now made in the USA, explains the differences between the Aussie and Lokka very clearly, all the while offering support to our community.

And some of you cop an attitude?

Ever been in business and been wronged? Had something you believed in and had to deal with shady competitors?

I'm kinda disappointed.

Thank you cruiser. It's ALWAYS good to have new vendors join up the forum. It promotes HEALTHY competition. There's nothing wrong with that!

Cora,

This is my personal opinion;

It is just a matter of learning forum etiquette, It is a thin line between helping and doing a sales job. Especially when you are not an approved vendor.

The two posts from you I commented on were both almost identical copy/paste and read more like an advertisement than post answering specific questions in regards to the original posted question or clarifying misinformation from someone else’s post. .

We all love INFORMATION on your product, but we don't want to be sold it !!!! I found your second post in this thread informative on how you have redesigned your product since moving manufacturing, and how it has improved reliability and this is how you have improved your lockers since moving production to the USA.

Feel free on Locker posts to say “Hi I am Cora from Aussie Locker, let me know if I can answer any questions for you about our locker” But avoid doing the sales pitch and you will be much more effective.

In regards to the Alloy Steel and CNC Machining, try adding that under your “Signature” at the bottom of the page with a link to your website.

“Aussie Lockers – American Owned and Manufactured in a world-class ISO9001 certified CNC machining USA facility - 9310 hardened alloy steel – see our website for why we are the best www.aussielocker.com”

Funny, bur I didn't see a sales pitch. Just a clarification of facts.

A company wants to be a sponsor and we have to rake them over the coals? Come on!!!

Cora,
Thank you for taking the time to post here and provide quality information. A member in my club has been telling people Lokka is the same as AND stronger than Aussie.

For some reason, people believe both so-called facts in the same breath. Of course, he also brags that his broken Zip Locker is stronger than ARB, but that's a different story.

I opted to install Limited Slip in my Jeep since I daily drive it in inclement weather, but you have me sold on (previously, interested in) an Aussie for my next toy.
