Default locking the front only....street manners?

My xj is stock for now....probably a while still before lift n tires but I still want a capable off roader. Curious to those who have or are currently running with the front end locked on their DD.....how are the road manners? Noticeable on turns doing 55mph? 90 degree turns in a intersection? I know this will be brought up but I don't wanna lock the rear I have a D35 and plan on swap later on so im interested in a soft locker for the front as that's what the budget supports for now. Thanks in advance.

My Bro in Law did it on his TJ. Only thing he noticed was the clicking noises in the parking lot. No driving issues.

He now has both ends locked.

Are you talking about a locker (as in one that isn't always locked) or welding the diff?

I have a Lockright locker up front and just like the previous post only notice it in parking lots.

Now if you are talking about welding or running something else that is always locked you are in for a world of hurt on the street - contrary to what the people who are doing it are going to tell you shortly.

A spool or welded spiders in the front will affect handling and wear the crap outta your tires. Im beginning to think lockrite is ok though. I was always a fan of Detroit Tru-trac up front.

i have a spartan locker in my dana 30. on the road in 2wd you don't even know it is there. in 4wd offroad it is slightly harder to steer and trys to pull straight when turning but it is barely noticable. you will not be dissapointed if it is installed correctly. do it!
