As long as you don't rip the air line off you're fine. Compressor should be in the vehicle you don't want to submerge it.

Its quite possible, but I figure if your beyond eyeball deep, you've got bigger issues than your compressor.

I sank my XJ and it sat in muddy water over the top of my 33s for several minutes. After bailing I carried on the ride with my E-locker in the D-30. Have never had a minute of trouble with it since then. Consider that a locker is made to fit in a location that is prone to getting wet. Barring a ****-poor installation, water should not be a factor.

But I maintain ... OP I did trail riding & mud for years with nothing but the stock Limited slip in my D35. I didn't feel the "need" for a locker until I started wheeling rocks. If you feel that you need lockers for the types of uses you described, they won't help much anyway as you might need to work on picking lines & driving skills. Please understand I am not trying to bash - just going on your own stated facts.

does having your winch sticking out 6" from the nearest support scare you at all? Bashing into things would make your winch the first point of contact.......

With a Aussie locker you would want to lock the front correct? if you locked the back it would be kicking in around corners?
