Maybe newer versions. The compressor is powered by one switch, lockers activated by another. If my compressor is off and I hit the locker activation, the compressor does nothing.

I'm going to read thru the entire thread, but just looking at the OP's post, I'd say you don't need a locker for what you're saying you're going to do. 4-lo would do just fine for mild mud, no rocks & trail riding.

Basically a drop in style locker. You take the cover off the diff pull the pin and axles and it goes right in. Don't have to take the pumpkin out or reset the gears.

True!

As for "lunch box" it is a automatic locker that replaces the spider gears in the carrier housing! also known as a ratcheting locker. www.aussielocker.com

honestly I think spending 2 grand on lockers is kinda pointless, i love my aussie lockers , I try to stay away from any kind of electronics or mechanisms that might break on the trail , just my opinion, if air and electronic lockers work for you great, i just dont like em. anybody know about ox lockers???

A buddy runs an ox up front & seems to work fine most of the time, but the cable has jammed inside its sleeve once or twice on the trail!

If high price turns you off, stay away from them. They cost as much as an Eaton or an ARB. I want one for my 8.8. Then the Aussie will be up for sale.

the price turns me off a little, but what i like about the ox is the fact that even if the cable breaks they give you a little thing you screw on the diff so you can still lock and unlock it as needed

I've talked to people who say they have had nothing with problems with the engagement on the ox... then again I don't know their skills or how the diff was set up or adjusted. A lot of times problems seem to arise out of operator or installer error.
