Its easily reachable from the drivers' side even if the pan is only dropped a few inches (to clear the exhaust). The center is S1, and the rear is S2. PM me with your email address if you would like the Chrysler troubleshooting manual.
I had an issue with my trans and traced it to the S1. I've since replaced it and the trans is working great. Working on your back in the driveway sucks, but it sure beat paying Aamco $502 to replace the solenoid, clean or relace the filter, and change the fluid.
BTW, if you buy the solenoid from your Chrysler Jeep stealer, be prepared for sticker shock. Its a similar price from Napa or Auto Zone.

There are solenoid sets (3) available on the 'net for $125 or so, but I had been warned by my local trans guy to avoid cheap solenoids.
A seperate cooler will allow both your trans and engine to run cooler. Make sure he knows to use DexronIII/Mercon fluid.

I replaced all of mine for just under $200 for all 3 solenoids. Got them from a place called Trans Star. They had a warehouse near me so I picked them up. Here is the link to the place. They are around the U. S. Go to the bottom of the page and give them a call.
