Little write up on death wobble and the steering gear
I found this while looking at how power steering works. Good short read.
The DW is not cause by the steering box but from what i read, even if the root cause is fixed, the steering box may become the culprit from the damage that occurred.

There also mention of fluid change. I know that according to maintenance schedule that the steering fluid is good for the life of the vehicle but I'm thinking every 100 000km. Or 60 000 miles wouldn't be a bad idea. Especially that jeep does not have steering cooling line like many GM mid size pick ups and mini vans (astro)
