What i learned from the guys with air ride if you run a 2nd bigger tube over the air line it does protect it better. And you could carry a co2 tank as a back up if your that worried about a compressor going out.The other one is a ox locker that uses a cable and they sell a drive away lock its a back up to lock the diff if your cable breaks or you could just use two of them and skip the cables lol.

All I blow is hot air, not good for the locking unit.

Me too, join the crowd!

OK Andrew I GIVE didn't think about those two ideas, but at my age I try to keep everything as simple as possible.

ARB relies on an electrical circuit, air supply, and air system to the locker. E-locker just the electrical circuit to the locker. Assuming both carriers are equally reliable the E locker obviously has less that can stop it from working. Most of the trouble I've seen with ARBs is electrical and of course that's one of the hardest things to diagnose, unless the problem part gives you a smoke signal. An air leak is easy to find and fix, as long as it's not in the axle. I've never seen an E-locker issue out on the trail that I can recall, but have heard of problems.

A cable operated unit would have the least to go wrong and would be the easiest to get working in a pinch. If you pull the lever and there's no resistance or it won't move you don't have to wait 'till you're stuck to know you're not locked, something you don't get with air or electric.

I have always been told plan for the worse and have 2 back ups.A standard e locker is fine the lsd/e locker he wants has mix reviews on them fully locking when you need it the most.

Andrew is correct, I would not want a lsd in an e locker either.
