Alright so I just bought 2 sets of KC slimlites I mounted 2 on my stock bumper. They turned out pretty nice! I'll post pics if anyone wants? My question it's a though, has anyone mounted them up on the hood by the windshield looks the wranglers? If so what kind of bracket did you make our use? One of the guys at 4 Wheel Parts to me that i would need a bracket because the lights would be too low if I mounted then directly to the hood.

I heard if you mount them on the hood/cowl then the light will be reflecting off the hood impairing your vision. but that might be the same with the a pillar ones as well. I think it all depends on how you point them but I dont know from first hand experience

 

Thank you!! Those A-Pillar mounts are exactly what I was looking for!! I didn't know anyone made them though. Hopefully the glare won't be too bad!

 

In the morning I will post a few pics of my set up. I don't think there are any special brackets on my and mine aren't too low at all

I have several wranglers with the lights mounted at the windshield and was wondering where to put them on the xj so they provide good light, but don't get in the way of the winch. Thanks for all the info everyone!

I actually ordered a set of these! I got them last week but haven't gotten around to mounting them ...

 

+1 on the detours a-pillar mount. Got mine a couple months ago but haven't got them installed. Mark was awesome to talk to and shipped them very fast. Came primed and ready for paint.
