Rear Door Speakers in a basic 4-speaker 1999 non-infinity XJ
I want to add rear door speakers without another amp.
I have extra 5-1/4" alpine type-s to put in.
I am unsure how to wire such a thing...
Currently I have:
6-3/4" infinity kappa 83.7i in the front doors.
6-1/2" alpine type-s in the rear sound bar.
600w JL audio amplifier.
12" JL audio W3 sub.
Help me out? <3

I would advice gettin a little amp for the speakers and just slave it off of your 600watt amp because thats going to be to much power from the head unit it would probably frie your deck with all thos speaker coming off it

I agree.
I would NOT run an additional pair of speakers off of your head unit. Buy two distribution blocks for your amplifier power/ground wires. You can also buy an RCA splitter to share the signal. You can also use the same remote wire from your amp. This way you don't have to run any more wires and you can still add a small amp that will piggy back off your bigger amp. This would be the right way to add additional speakers.

I am aware that an additional amp would be ideal.
I am curious how it might be wired without one though...
The receiver in use is a Kenwood with 6 preamp outputs running 22w rms and 60w max, so I do not think it would be overloaded.
PS, any 4 channel or 6 channel amp recommendations?
I am much more familiar with subwoofer amps...

Its the same as a subwoofer amp
That head unit is weak its only pushing 22w to each speaker thats absolutely nothing in my perspective

Would it be better to slave another ~400w amp off of my current 800w JL monoblock, or just replace it with a 5-channel amp for both the sub and 4 speakers? Are there any downsides to this configuration?
