Yeah, I was talking about the IRO HnT. http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merch..._Code=IR-X_HNT
I've been looking for SYE options because I'll need it this summer.

yeah yeah... I had heard something about this by IRO's site says...
"Fits vehicles that have the AX-5/AX-15 manual trans. A custom shaft could be necessary in these vehicles."
I was under the impression that might just apply to the big guys though... Maybe Demolition_x can comment

I have the advanced adapters kit and it works great for me... a while back i let some buddies borrow my jeep and they broke the drive shaft (from tomwoods) and messed up the yoke on the sye so i called advanced adapters and they sent me a new one... with the seal and bolt and all for 20 bucks... in anycase its a complete kit and has served me well

Yes a ax-15 is shorter. Their stock drive shaft is in the 30-31 inch range. Most people running a ax-15/8.25 combo need longer by an inch or so. There are a few ZJ shafts that work in this application.
I am under the impression if you cut the shaft longer you could probably get away with the one supplied by IRO.
The best way to do any drive shaft figuring out is to complete the sye or hnt and then measure yoke to yoke but many of the DD's can't afford to that unless they wanna run their XJ honda style (Front Wheel drive by removing the rear drive shaft).

A true SYE is always going to be stronger than a HnT. HnT's work well, and can be run off road pretty hard, but it's true that they're not as strong as a compelte SYE kit. They're not weak, I've seen plenty take some abuse, so if your rig is a dd/weekend offroader, you should be fine with the HnT. If you get the SYE from Crown, just be sure to get new u-joints for the front shaft you pull from the JY (which of course drives the price up about $50 for 3 high quality u-joints).
Ax5/15's will need a longer shaft to go with a SYE (HnT or true SYE) as the transmission is shorter than the aw4.

Thanks for all the useful information, I'll take into consideration.
I'm rolling more towards the HacknTap because it's a bargain and I don't go offroading as much, maybe 2 or 3 times a month. If they hold up strong then I'm most likely going to take that option
