Default Lift questions

I have a 2000 xj and im looking to lift it. I was looking into a 4.5 inch lift kit but figured out that I would need a new driveshaft and a new yoke. it was expensive so I was looking into a 2.5 inch lift. Im wondering if I would still need to change the driveshaft and yoke to accommodate the angle. Also what wheels would be a good size.

It's nice having the same drive shaft front and rear .

There is a large difference in Putting on a 2 and a 1/2 inch versus a 4 and a 1/2 inch lift. . Many more parts and a lot more expense with potential driveline issues. If you're not going to wheel it hard, start with the 2 1/2 lift, done right. If you need more capability, go higher. Just an older guy opinion.....

I have a 2000 XJ. Sitting at 4 inches. Stock drive shafts, no sye, no t-case drop - some vibrations between 25 and 35mph, but not bad. Used old man emu coils and springs, JK rubicon shocks. 31x10.5x15

I ran 3" coils with 3" lift blocks in the rear stock brake lines, steering and drive shafts for damn nearvtwo years with no issues

Latervi did shackle relocation and got rid of lift blocks, later 1ton steering and track bar, brake lines,

then 3 link longer arms on front with same 3" coils

Gears locker tools time came.

Last was coilovers on front end and unfortunately had to lift rear to match front new height.

This has been a 5 year process and it all worked worked at.

Build it wheel it fix it and change improve it.

Most importantly have fun take every thing on forumns with a grain ofvsalt.
