I used to run the Rough Country 4.5" lift on 33"s with moderate wheel well cutting then went to 35"s with aggressive wheel well cutting but absolutely loved that lift kit. It handled great on and offroad. I jumped it a few times without a second thought and would pull off the road into dirt parking lots at 35-45 mph and just let em' rip into some nasty donuts. lol It was great. Thats my recomendation. Just remember to widen your stance as you lift for stability. Good luck

My Jeep goes under the knife on the 29th. I went with a 3.5" Rubicon Express Superflex kit and adjustable track bar, (from users' anecdotes it actually lifts closer to 4.25"), Bilstein 5125 shocks, RockKrawler adjustable arms (upper/lower), and an SYE/DS combo from adamsdriveshaft out of Henderson, NV. I've got 15x8, 3.75" BS wheels and I'm sticking 32" Hankook MTs on it. Its geared stock for now (oh well) until I recoup some cost to get it regeared and sack up to trim for 33"s.
I figure I still maintain most of my DD ability while picking up my capabilities off road. I do mostly light wheeling to campgrounds and trails on mud/dirt/gravel and that's where I ended up.
