Default lift questions?

ok the past couple days i been searching for making a lift for my 86 2dr xj. from what i gathered on here for you can use front coil springs out of a thunderbird and get 3-4in of lift and for the leaf springs some use the s10 bastard pack, or they use the whole stock leaf from a s10 or dakota and itll bolt right in and provide 3in lift? is this all correct from what i got on here? im low on cash and work at a part store so i can get parts easy. the jeep is a dd and might see some off roadin in the future til winter, then its gonna get a 6.5 long arm cause ill be drivin the ole' cummins for pushin snow. thanks in advance

here is a pretty cheap way i found, i haven't done it but it looks legit if you can find good enough used parts.

Having an '86 requires a bit more work to lift. At 3-4" your front driveshaft, which is a GKN style, is going to be angry as hell. What transfer case do you have? 207, 228 or 229? You'll find the model number on the tag located on the case.
