lift questions?

ok the past couple days i been searching for making a lift for my 86 2dr xj. from what i gathered on here for you can use front coil springs out of a thunderbird and get 3-4in of lift and for the leaf springs some use the s10 bastard pack, or they use the whole stock leaf from a s10 or dakota and itll bolt right in and provide 3in lift? is this all correct from what i got on here? im low on cash and work at a part store so i can get parts easy. the jeep is a dd and might see some off roadin in the future til winter, then its gonna get a 6.5 long arm cause ill be drivin the ole' cummins for pushin snow. thanks in advance

here is a pretty cheap way i found, i haven't done it but it looks legit if you can find good enough used parts.
