Going to take advantage of a heated garage this winter and hopefully complete some major Jeep projects.
they are:
3” lift
- New leafs/shackles (3” leafs, new stock length shackles)
- new coils and shocks with BPEs rear and front
- t-case drop
- extended sway bar links (fixed not adjustable)
Front end
- Adjustable track bar
- ZJ tie rod
- new draglink
- new lower control arms (fixed not adjustable)
what order of operations makes the most sense here?
i was thinking to do the lift items first and then the front end stuff. but would a new track bar need to be done within the lift work? little nervous i'm not going to get the track bar bit right... fairly new to not only jeeps but wrenching! will have a friend help who is not incompetent.

Pick a side (front or back) and go at it until you have it done, then move to the other side. Btw, a tcase drop is a band-aid. The really way to fix post lift driveline vibes is a SYE. However at 3" you may not need either.
Install everything you listed and then go get an alignment. Especially the steering stuff. You don't want to have to get an alignment twice.
Track bars not difficult at all and it'll be much stronger than the stock one, and you can center your axle properly.
Don't over think things like I do. Just go for it and you'll be happy you did it yourself.

Yeah the lift part woukd be first, but all those parts are kind of together. You should be able to get it done in one day if you don't have much rust. Originally Posted by uptownbill

By the way, don't put the transfer case drop until you see if you need it. It's more of a band aide type deal if you have vibes. The better option is sye.

and generally speaking, most things I'm reading say to tighten the bolts but don't torque them until the car's on the ground. And to give it a good push down on all the corners to let it all settle.

What lift didb you get just curious. And do the trackbar with after you finish the front lift. You'll already be down there.

Sorry I remember you vwent with rc. They have a bad reputation for their quality. I think they have been trying to work on that though.

Consider the track bar as part of the lift kit. Just install it with everything else.
Also yes, don't torque the bolts until the jeep is on its own weight. When I do any suspension work I just install the bolt, and hand tighten the nuts a couple turns so it's loosely together. Then once everythings done, it's back on all fours, then I go back in and tighten/torque everything.
