lift?
I'm planning on going with about a 3" lift. it doesn't need to be anything wild or amazing. want to get this thing up a little higher. been looking at the rough country 3". i would like to get 31's under it. but heres my question.
i was looking at the junkyard parts that fit, and wondering if it is possible to get a decent lift with other parts? or is it better to just go with the kit? I'm sure it will be much easier that way. just curious bout input. thanks

You could piece together a JY kit, but it will take some searching and may require some mods. You can get a New 3" Zone lift kit for about $500. Zone seems to be a good starter kit with a decent ride.
Other parts you may need are Adjustable Track Bar, Lower Control Arms or in some cases a TC Drop kit or degree shims.

438 for a rustys lift http://www.rustysoffroad.com/jeep-su...-pack-kit.html and 200 for a good track bar http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/10215.html and with that trackbar its adjustable so you can keep it if you lift higher later on.

Theres a whole thread dedicated to lifts and tires and a whole thread dedicated to lifts with JY parts. Start searching and you'll answer your own questions

This is the best quality leafs/coils all made in NA not China $438 complete everything you need. That track bar is vg also. You may need a transfer case drop kit some do and other's don't. For your 31" tires I would suggest new wheels steel ones cheap from Summit, Jegs lots of other places <$50@ and buy a 15x8" with a 3.75" of BS on the wheel for clearance of frame and LCA's.

Hey I appreciate yalls input. I will be looking into these very soon.
It's got 15" steel wheels. Not sure on the bs of them, but if I don't have to, I would prefer not to get new wheels.

Ok, so I know I got this thread started, but I think for now, just gonna replace the shocks and get some new tires. Shocks are shot and tires are pitiful. Work is slow and I need to keep from spending as much money as I can for now. Any suggestions on good shocks for factory ride height? Not trying to do anything crazy with it, just need a good quality shock, that's reasonably priced

It's just always been a habit of me to try to buy the quality stuff. It's nice to have some more realistic minds come up with stuff too
