Iv heard that they are nice, but I'm not getting them. I'm gonna go long arms eventually.

The downside to using the drop bracket is that it puts your ares closer to the ground and they are more likely to get smashed up

Your not going to want to do drop arm kit unless you go 4.5+ ... I dont think would help or even work on a 3" lift since most people run stock arms on a 3" lift

great thread im torn between a 3 inch and a 4.5 lift as well and i still dont know what i want lol. if you go 3 inch and start adding from there to get 4.5 the little parts you need add up fast from what i gather. either way i want to run 31s and go with a bigger tire eventually. But like i said i am stuck in between what lift i want. I can clear 31s with a 3 inch fine but i love the looks of the 4.5 inch kit.

Not wanting to hijack the thread but figured op would like hearing my question. Is an sye all you need when going 4.5 or bigger and reuse factory rear drive shaft? I see so many talking about an sye and new shafts. From my research on lifts im yet to see a company say i needed a new rear dive shaft just sye is needed.

Alright well I'm getting tires from firestone for 630. Mounted, balanced and all that.

Also here is and SYE and DS for 200:
http://ironrockoffroad.com/Merchant2...egory_Code=XDT

You don't really need an SYE and DS anyway, a 1 inch tcase drop should do fine.

And you don't really need a new steering stabilizer or track bar. You can just re drill the track bar axel mounting hole 3/4 of an inch towards the drivers side.

If have the Dana 35 I'd do swap first to the 44 or 8.25. If doing the sye can also pull the front ds at the jy for a lot less or just do a tc drop. Do you have any recovery points

i have never seen sears the cheapest for tires and $1000 for 31s is $200 more than i payed for brand new cooper 33s. a good set of 31x10.50s shouldn't be more than $600 mounted and balanced. hell an ok set will run you $500 after taxes.

for the lift why buy the 3" kit and a bunch of extra crap with it

http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep_xj_4x.html

all the stuff you are ordering extra comes in the 4.5" kit for less money. if you only want 3" it would still be cheaper to order a 3" set of coils pull a leaf and sell the extra parts.

I did my 3" lift for like 275 bucks. Didn't go with any kit. Bought two stock+2.5" height leaf springs from ProComp, 106 each, bushings including. Front? I had upcountry suspension, so +1 inch to start, then I added a 2" Rubicon Express spacer on each side. No vibes, no bad alignment, that's it. Just bought all new grade 8 steel hardware for the rear springs. (The rear leafs from pro comp will give you like +4 inches, and will settle to a little over three.)

No SYE, no TC drop, no different driveshafts, the springs in the rear and the spacers up front is all that happened.

Just buy the lift rims and tires. Install them. If you have vibes, then buy a tcase drop. If that doesn't cure them THEN buy an SYE and DS. THEN start upgrading your steering components when you have some spare cash.
