I just installed my lift and torqued everything ( after it was on the ground of course) and after torqueing the rear shackle to leaf bolts I went to remove the wrench I was holding the nut with and I could turn it....???? they're torqued to the 109 spec and I used new bolts from the dealer.... should this happen? I would think they could work their way loose as the suspension and shackle move

To clarify... when I say I can turn it I mean the bolt and nut turn together with minor pressure. I'm assuming the nut reached the end of the threads before the shackle clamped fully on the leaf bushing. they are RC full leaf packs and stock shackles

As you are not getting any replies...
Mine came loose, on the driver side, nut came off, and the bolt worked it's way halfway out. That's about the worst thing that can happen...
Other than it coming completely out while driving on the freeway!
If you are worried about it, you can follow my lead.
I put some lock-tight on the threads of the bolt (the second time I put one in) and torqued them down. Once they dried, (and I did both sides) I felt better. Haven't had any problems since.
20 minutes and 5 bucks for a peace of mind.
Why take chances?
Good-luck, have fun.

Thanks, nice to get a reply! Thought this would be a little more common. I think I will take your lead... and probably be sticking my head back there to check every day for a while! thanks

I'll agree with the loctite comment. However, I had some old shackle bolts left over from....somewhere/someone, that used a nylock nut. I used that nylock nut AND loctite on my leaf bolts. I had an upper and lower leaf/shackle bolt come loose. Color me paranoid...

well, I wound up double nutting it since I had some equal grade nylocks lying around and I also used loctite. I'm sure I'll still be popping my head back there to check them out and I'll periodically check the torque on them until I feel comfortable. thanks guys
